Things you didn’t know about Jai Ball
1. My first board was Powell Mike McGill. That’s a fish tail kids.
2. Before skating I was sure I was gonna make it to the NBA.
3. Before basketball I was sure I was gonna be a major league baseball player.
4. My first skate video was a 6hr vhs mix of old powell and h-street movies.
There was a lot of rewinding and fast forwarding.
5. As a kid I thought the new tracker e-clip trucks were amazing until all my
wheels fell off.
6. My first sponsor was Radical skate shop in China town (now Temple). I was
fifteen and thought that was as good as it got!
7. At about fourteen I got a gig doing voice over work for cartoons. I made
$500 bucks in forty five minutes, which I promptly spent on red raver new deal
pants and other fashion trends that ended six months later.
8. At fifteen I saw Twenty shot and thought that Menace was the coolest company.
I wanted to be a gangster skater from L.A too.
9. After high school I studied film for three years in college, right before
computer editing came in. I know everything about the French new wave, but still
have no idea how to edit.
10. At seventeen I went to S.F for the first time. At the pier Lee Smith made
fun of my shoes, I was crushed.
11. I love to watch “So you think you can dance” as well as other
dancing reality shows. I just wanna dance!
12. My list of Joe jobs includes; dish washer, subway sandwich artist, skate
shop slacker, hospital cook, youth hostel breakfast guy, Lush cosmetics bath

13. I love long walks in the park.
